Presburger Award for Young Scientists 2020 - Call for Nominations

Starting in 2010, the European Association for Theoretical Computer Science (EATCS) established the Presburger Award. The Award is conferred annually at the International Colloquium on Automata, Languages and Programming (ICALP) to a young scientist (in exceptional cases to several young scientists) for outstanding contributions in theoretical computer science, documented by a published paper or a series of published papers. The Award is named after Mojzesz Presburger who accomplished his path-breaking work on decidability of the theory of addition (which today is called Presburger arithmetic) as a student in 1929.

Call for nominations: EATCS Award 2020

The FoIKS symposia (http://foiks.org/) provide a biennial forum that brings together researchers working on the theoretical foundations of information and knowledge systems and to attract researchers working in mathematical fields such as discrete mathematics, combinatorics, logics, and finite model theory who are interested in applying their theories to research on database and knowledge base theory. The goal is to provide researchers working in these areas with an opportunity to share research experiences, promote collaborations, and identify new issues and directions for future research.

2019 Edsger W. Dijkstra Prize in Distributed Computing

The Edsger W. Dijkstra Prize in Distributed Computing is awarded for outstanding papers on the principles of distributed computing, whose significance and impact on the theory or practice of distributed computing have been evident for at least a decade. It is sponsored jointly by the ACM Symposium on Principles of Distributed Computing (PODC) and the EATCS Symposium on Distributed Computing (DISC). The prize is presented annually, with the presentation taking place alternately at PODC and DISC.
